We still have plenty of gorgeous yarns to choose from, and books as well. Our internet is working, and we can accept credit and cash payments, as things stand now.
It’s kind of ironic that such a “low-tech” craft can survive a “high-tech” outage. Hope that doesn’t come back to bite me. 😂

It’s that time of year when the acorns “ping” off the big oak tree on the front lawn, and so many flowers in bloom around the shop. The Lily of the Valley is finished their blossoms and mesmerizing scent, but now we have Queen Anne’s Lace, Columbine, Daisies, Roses, Clover, and many more.
So, the name of the shop is very fitting at this time of the year.

Just a reminder that the shop will close on Saturday afternoon, and all remaining yarn, needles, accessories will start it’s journey to a new location at Close Knit Friends Yarn Shop. (Opening July 18). Robyn has graciously provided us with maps to her new yarn shop, and I’m excited for her. She’s shared a few of her plans/ideas with me, and you will be excited as well. She will also be hosting knit (or crochet) meetups and classes. And I may even teach a few classes there on occasion.
Meanwhile, we still have a great selection and sale prices until closing Saturday. Books are an extra special savings @ 30% off. They’re heavy and we’d rather sell, than count and move.
Where the Wildflowers Grow Gallery will continue as a weaving and spinning shop, eventually moving to our new location in Bairdsville, where we will have all things Ashford, Schacht, Louet, and weaving cottons, accessories, etc. more info to follow.

Today was a fantastic weaving class, despite the heat. We started early and each participant learned a few things about rigid heddle weaving, while I (deliberately, ahem 😉) made a few mistakes on my weaving, and showed how to fix them.
I have a few spots available in another beginner weaving class next Sunday, and would love to fill them. More students = more questions, mistakes = more learning opportunities.

I want to thank everyone who has supported this dream/endeavour of having a fibre arts shop/workshop. It’s been a great run, albeit with a few challenges the past two - three years. I have made many good friends and colleagues, acquaintances and customers and those relationships will continue.
The yarn shop is moving July 9 to a new location, new owner, new name, new opportunities. Robyn Oakes will be opening the new yarn shop in Upper Kent, called “Close Knit Friends Yarn Shop”, and will open July 18. Saturday drop-ins will continue as before, and classes will be offered. Link to follow asap. Address is One Route 490, Upper Kent, NB.
The Wildflower Gallery will continue as a spinning/weaving studio from my home base in Bairdsville, NB (about 14 mins south, according to Google). I will also offer classes on a continuing basis.
That said, until July 9, we have a sale on, and please redeem all gift cards before July 9.

It’s finished, and I absolutely loved this knit from cast on to cast off. The yarn is Illimani Sabri II in one of their new dyed colours. I enjoyed it so much, that I’ve already wound the yarn for another.
The pattern is the Ripple sweater from Hinterm Stein. Extremely well written, with numerous options for customizing your fit. Just one more sleep! Who’s waxing their needles in prep for tomorrow’s Fastest Knitter contest? The crown(s) are made for both (crochet as well), and there will be shenanigans afoot. Fastest aknitter and a crochet contests begin at 1 pm sharp.
Yarn bombing is encouraged, and there will be some funky yarns available for that purpose, or bring your own.
We have added to the clearance section (aka staircase), and have a sale on all yarns and spinning fibres. (15% off), but an extra special discount on all Ancient Arts yarns (20% off, we have too many for the shelves, and need space for the new colours).
There are also draws for door prizes. Bottled water supplied, while it lasts. Please bring your own lawn chair, snacks, bug spray, sun screen, masks are encouraged.
Several shop samples now have price tags (time to change it up), so a great time to buy ready made for gifts, or yourself.
